WEEKEND ROUNDUP 14th & 15th June

The 1st XI travelled to Shiregreen and came up short as they scored 177, with a solid 77 from 135 for Jaden Fell (David Verity) and a cameo 29 from 14 balls for captain and player of the match James Dobson (Howarth Timber) along with 4-29 but, it wasn't enough to get the 12 points to maintain their spot in the top 3.


The 2nd XI hosted Rockingham Colliery and batting first, looked in a spot of trouble when 109-7, but brilliant displays from Travis Creswell (Davis Hughes) scoring 51 from 47 and Ryan Alahakon scoring 42 from 55 guided the 2s to a total of 232/9 from their 50 overs. In response the visitors came up 2 runs short thanks to a brilliant fielding display keeping them top of the Championship


The 3rd XI were on the road as they visited Sheffield University Staff, bowling the hosts out for 204 in 46 overs, including 3-17 from Max Garbutt (Doncaster Golf Range). The chase in response saw the 3s reach their target in the last over losing 7 wickets with scores from Fin Truman with 61* and Jonathan Redfern scoring 60 from 75 balls.


The 4th XI welcomed Parkhead to Hill House on Saturday and batting first could only score 110 with help from Michael Linney (Make IT Work) scoring 52 from 41 balls. The visitors were then dismissed for just 90 thanks to bowling displays from Ethan Patel taking 3-20 from 10 overs and Shaan Rajasundaram taking 3-13 from 5 overs.


The Ladies 1st XI hosted Saxton in the Premier League on Sunday, scoring 160 with top score coming from Kate Duffield (Dave Blanusha) of 79 making an opening partnership of 131 with captain Shell Styring (ReTreat Breaks). In response early wickets from Aura Kent and Daisy Bayes weren't enough to break the back of the visitors as they completed the chase 6 down with plenty of time left.


The 3rd XI visited Frecheville on Sunday, scoring 220 from their allocation thanks to Archie Peirson's unbeaten 60 and Max Davidson's 74 from 48. In response Archie Peirson then took 5-28 as the hosts were dismissed for 149.


The women & girls softball team played on Sunday and came up short as they were beaten by Wickersley player of the match going to Jodie Gilchrist as she scored 24 and took 1-24
